Scholastic Fundraising Achievement

Scholastic  Book Clubs are very pleased to announce they have raised a grand total of $25,000 for the Australian Orangutan Project.

This money was raised through the sale of ‘Save the Orangutan’ wristbands and posters. This proves that schools and students around Australia really care for the orangutan and were keen to get behind Scholastic and the AOP’s initiatives.

Port Fairy Consolidated School are excited to say that we ran a fundraising day for the orangutans on Friday with our school. Our students raised $265 in donations. The student environment group face painted, coloured hair and made cup cakes. All students dressed up or came wearing orange. The students are going to adopt an Orangutang. We are all so proud and excited! In first term the students had been working on an inquiry about ‘ entertainment’ in environmental science class. The challenge was to make the project make a difference or ‘pass it forward’ this is one of the projects that was developed and put into action! We heard about the scholastic competition too late. congratulations to all schools who made a difference and to the AOP for being there for the Orangutang s let’s us know when we can all work together again! we will keep fundraising for a precious species!

Welcome to AOEP!

AOEP is a conservation advocacy program. By registering you will have access to downloads which you can incorporate into your classroom activities. It is hoped that some of the activities will inspire the children to create their own orangutan activities. Our hope is that once you become aware of the plight of the orangutan, you will be inspired to become part of the solution!
